Frequently Asked Questions - Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) FAQs

What is a brow lift?

A brow lift commonly referred to as a forehead lift or an eyebrow lift is a aesthetic plastic surgery procedure that lifts the skin on the forehead and removes excess tissue underneath in order to provide the patient with a rejuvenated looking face.

How does a plastic surgeon perform a brow lift?

There are 2 main ways a surgeon will perform a brow lift. The traditional method calls for a large incision from ear to ear along the top of the forehead inside the hairline. The endoscopic method makes several much smaller incisions along the hairline where an endoscopic device is inserted in order for the surgeon to find areas in need of extraction. In both cases excess skin and fat tissue are removed and muscle tissue is repositioned or moved before the surgeon lifts the skin of the forehead upward and encloses the incisions.

What is the cost of a brow lift?

Brow lift surgeries will typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000 dollars depending upon several factors including location and individual patient needs.

Does a brow lift produce visible scars?

The scars are very inconspicuous since they will fall within the hairline. For patients with a receding hairline there are options in order to reduce the amount of visible scarring.

Does brow lift surgery hurt?

There will be a mild discomfort for the first couple of weeks after a brow lift surgery.

How do I get a brow lift?

The first step in getting a brow lift is to make sure it is the right surgery for you. After you determine you want to go ahead with the procedure, you must first determine whether or not you can afford both the time off work (2 weeks) and the price of the procedure which varies from surgeon to surgeon. If you are still serious about getting a tummy tuck it is time to contact a board certified plastic surgeon in your area.
